Instrument Shop

Kings repairs all brands of instruments including King, Century Flight, Bendix, Honeywell, Sperry, Collins, Jet, Aeronetics, United, ARC Cessna, S-Tec, RCA Honeywell, Sigma Tec, Narco, and others. Our current instrument shop came to us in 1998 at our present location. Kings Avionics acquired the former Johnson County Industrial Avionics located at Johnson County Industrial Airport along with Tim Gastinger and Pat McGuire. Prior to that time Kings had a small instrument shop started in the 1980’s. Jerry Hollis was the sole instrument tech at that time and joined Tim and Pat in the new facilities at New Century. The trio makes work together in our shop doing extensive instrument repairs on units that are shipped in as well as visiting customers. Their capability list is several pages long.

Jerry Hollis began working for Kings Avionics in 1990 as our sole instrument technician. At that time we had a small “clean” room and worked on a limited amount of instruments. Jerry’s expertise includes much more than instruments. Jerry is also your connection to autopilot troubleshooting and repair. He is at home in many other aspects of Avionics and is often seen working in the hangar. Tim Gastinger came to Kings Avionics in 1998 with the acquisition of JCIA. He had worked previously for 15 years at JCIA. His expertise is so extensive it would be impossible to list all the equipment.
Pat McGuire having worked with Tim at JCIA for 15 years also came to us in 1998. He, too, has a broad range of knowledge of instruments of all manufacturers. With them came an impressive list of customers they continue to serve through Kings.
